He did it again. According to the Nepalese expedition operator Seven Summit Treks, Polish ski mountaineer Bartek Ziemski reached the summit of Mount Everest at 8,849 meters today without bottled oxygen and skied down from there to base camp.
The 30-year-old had already made the first ascent of the fourth-highest mountain this spring season on 12 May on the neighboring 8,516-meter-high Lhotse and had also skied down from that summit to base camp.
Ski descents from nine eight-thousanders
Lhotse and Everest were the eighth and ninth eight-thousanders that Ziemski had skied down after climbing them without supplemental oxygen. He had previously achieved this feat in 2022 on Broad Peak and Gasherbrum II in Pakistan, in 2023 on Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri, in 2024 on Makalu and Kangchenjunga, and in 2025 on Manaslu.

He is a true climber and not weakings like all that suck on 02.
